Frequently asked questions

What are the server requirements? ▾
PHP 8.2 or above, the GD extension enabled, SQLite3, and mod_rewrite (Apache) or its Nginx equivalent. Standard shared hosting is enough.
Can I install it on shared hosting? ▾
Yes. PIXMARO is designed to run on standard shared hosting (o2switch, Infomaniak, OVH…). No root access or Docker required.
How do I update PIXMARO? ▾
PIXMARO checks for updates automatically every week. When one is available, a notification appears on your dashboard. The update is applied in one click from Settings → Updates.
Where is my data stored? ▾
All your data (SQLite database, photos, thumbnails) stays exclusively on your own server. PIXMARO collects no client data and no photos.
Does the Lightroom plugin work with Lightroom Classic CC? ▾
Yes. The plugin is compatible with Lightroom Classic (version CC 7 and above). It is not compatible with Lightroom Cloud (formerly Lightroom CC).
Can several photographers share one PIXMARO? ▾
The current version is single-account (one administrator). Multi-photographer management is planned for a future version.
What happens if my license expires? ▾
PIXMARO keeps working normally for your existing albums. Only creation actions (new album, upload) are blocked. Your clients can still browse and download.
How do I move PIXMARO to another host? ▾
Use the Backup feature from Settings → Backup. Download the complete archive (database + photos), then install a new PIXMARO instance and restore the archive.
